Title/Position
Engineer, New Product Development
Position Description
"I have the good fortune to be working in Research and New Product Development for an international, publicly traded, oil service and equipment manufacturer, Cameron Compression Systems. My role as an engineer has allowed me to work in a constantly changing environment. One day I may be conceptualizing a component design using our Unigraphics 3-D modeling platform or I could be performance-testing in our state-of-the-art research labs. On other days, I could be traveling as far as China to be a technical advisor on foreign projects."
On the Mechanical Engineering Technology Program
"Getting exposure to the latest technology, witnessing your idea develops from a simple concept to finished product, and working with experienced engineers has been an incredible opportunity. I would not have been able to adapt to this type of environment without the quality hands-on training and technical education that I received at Buffalo State. The smaller class sizes allowed me to benefit from direct interaction with the professors. This benefit, along with the concentrated lab sessions, really helped to support the theory-based class instruction. I was able to practically apply analytics learned in my lecture classes to the situations experienced in the labs. In addition, I formed valuable team building skills working with a diverse group of classmates with whom I studied, wrote group papers, developed group presentations, and helped solidify professional contacts that have served me well throughout my career. This training, education, simulated lab exercises, and real-world design projects allowed me to have the proper foundation to enter a highly complex global engineering environment."
