These are the steps needed to file an Academic Appeals Petition:
• Identify what you will be requesting in the appeal
• Speak to your department chair, instructor, advisor, and/or counselor about your request to see if they support it
• Check with the Student Accounts Office and Financial Aid Office (if money is involved with your petition) to see what the impact will be on your bill and/or financial aid
• Download an Academic Appeals Petition (PDF file, 208Kb) or pick up a petition from the Academic Standards Office (in Twin Rise 100) and return the petition as soon as you have it completed
o Make sure all sections of the petition are completely and concisely filled out
o Cite extenuating circumstances related to your request, if any
o Attach supporting documentation for your request, if any
o Include support letters from your instructor/advisor/counselor
• Wait for a decision to be mailed back to you
