The information that follows is specific to the University College probation and dismissal process. If you affiliated with one of the six Schools of Buffalo State, you should consult with your Dean’s Office for your School’s probation and dismissal process.
In order to be removed from academic probation, you will need to raise your cumulative GPA to the minimum 2.0. As a condition of your continued enrollment at Buffalo State College, it is MANDATORY to meet with the Academic Intervention Program within THE FIRST WEEK of the new semester; and attend regular scheduled meetings every 3 to 4 weeks. To prepare for this meeting you should be aware of the Program Requirements during your probationary period. We also request that you complete the Student Self Assessment form and return it to us prior to your first appointment. At our first meeting we will develop an individualized semester plan (including a review of your upcoming semester’s schedule) based on your assessment answers, and complete a contract indicating your willingness to succeed at Buffalo State. Failure to do so will be negatively considered if your case should you be up for dismissal review with the College at any point in the future.
All students should be aware that their probationary status DOES affect their financial aid eligibility, their ability to declare a degree program of study, and continuation at the College.
