Housing and Dining

Attention Transfer Students and Upperclassmen

New Apartment Complex Open Fall 2011

All first- and second-year students (i.e., those with less than 57 credits) are guaranteed housing and are required to live on campus unless the student:

  • Is 21 years old
  • Lives with a parent within 35 miles of campus
  • Is married
  • Is a parent
  • Is a transfer student
  • Is a veteran

A student must reside on campus for four consecutive semesters or until he or she has earned 57 credits.

Living on campus provides underclassmen with opportunities to make friends and get involved in campus activities. Buffalo State offers multiple on-campus housing options that give you a chance to learn, relax, and socialize. Many students who live on campus find they have more time for studying--and learn more as a result.

Some students are eligible to live off campus. Affordable off-campus housing is available within walking distance of Buffalo State. Many students choose to settle in Buffalo's neighboring Museum District, one of the most attractive areas of Buffalo.

Our convenient location provides nearby opportunities for exploring the arts, or simply enjoying the small shops and coffeehouses located on Elmwood Avenue.
