Below you will find information and our application for the Student Ambassador Program for 2008-2009. Please read all the information provided.
The Buffalo State College Student Ambassador’s is a paid position though the Office of Admissions. The group consists of approximately 50 students who assist in the promotion of Buffalo State College to prospective students, their parents and the high school guidance community.
The goals of the Ambassadors are to:

Inform prospective students and parents interested in Buffalo State College about all facets of Buffalo State life -- academic programs, faculty and students, physical facilities, social opportunities, and student services.

Assist with important public relations programs such as counselor conferences, Buffalo State’s bi-annual Open House programs, etc.

Personalize the College by making campus visitors feel welcome, comfortable, and positive about Buffalo State by demonstrating sincerity, enthusiasm, credibility, interest, and helpfulness.
Activities of the Ambassadors include:

Representing Buffalo State College, by giving campus tours to college visitors.

Making presentations about Buffalo State College at high schools.

Staffing the Admissions Office ASKBuffaloState AOL Instant Messenger Screen Name.

Participating in Buffalo State's Fall and Spring Open House programs.

Assisting, as needed, at special recruitment events that occur throughout the year.

Attending training sessions.

Special events for members such as holiday parties, end-of-year receptions, and monthly social event.
Membership in the Buffalo State College Student Ambassador Program is limited.
Selection criteria include:

Dedication to the group and ability to commit necessary time (one hour a week)

Sincere desire to represent Buffalo State College

Effective speaking ability
-
Ability to make a positive first impression
-
Ability to adapt to a variety of situations
-
Ability to work well with others
-
Enthusiasm about Buffalo State College

Responsibility, dependability
Although hard work and commitment are required, much of the individual participation in activities can be worked around Ambassadors’ class and study schedules.
Ambassadors enjoy important advantages from membership:
