Ankobia Pageant (La Tribaux Couture) Tribal Couture
Time: 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Location: Campbell Student Union Social Hall
This pageant is hosted to celebrate the beauty of Africa and the African Diaspora, being Caribbean, African American, or people of African Descent. Contestants are given an African print fabric for their unity dance and introduction scene. The Ankobia Pageant is not just any other pageant but one that educates, informs, promotes, raises awareness, celebrates, and unifies the people of the African Diaspora. Winners are awarded handsomely and a dinner is organized for them to celebrate their hard work and dedication.

Reconstructing Rwanda After the 1994 Genocide

Professor Mathilde Mukantabana, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Rwanda to the United States and non-resident Ambassador to Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina will talk about the reconstruction of Rwanda after the devastation of the 1994 genocide.
