The AAAS Minor strengthens any major degree program and adds an important area of specialization in light of current socioeconomic and demographic trends. The minor is particularly suited for careers and occupations that entail interaction in multicultural settings and/or high levels of cultural historical literacy. As a distinctive and dynamic area of scholarship, it is particularly conducive to graduate study preparation.
The African and African American Studies Interdisciplinary Unit offers a minor through which students gain a sophisticated knowledge of the African experience. Students have access to faculty and staff of the highest quality, with wide ranging expertise in the African and African diasporan experience.
