Burchfield-Penney Art Center Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary

On December 9, 1966, the Charles E. Burchfield Center at Buffalo State College opened to the public with artist Charles E. Burchfield himself cutting the ribbon at the event. The exhibition, the Charles E. Burchfield Center 40th Anniversary, celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Burchfield-Penney and will be on view through May 13, 2007. An opening reception and 40th anniversary celebration will be held on Friday, December 8 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Burchfield-Penney, 3rd floor, Rockwell Hall, Buffalo State College. [more…]

The senior health and wellness major matched a career high with 21 points to lead the Bengals to an 83-71 victory against Washington & Jefferson on Sunday. Burchfield-Penney New Museum Project Receives $700,000 Kresge Challenge Grant

The Burchfield-Penney Art Center is pleased to announce that the museum’s capital campaign for a new museum has been awarded a challenge grant of $700,000 from The Kresge Foundation. The new museum, designed by Gwathmey Siegel and Associates Architects, is currently under construction at the corner of Elmwood Avenue and Rockwell Road and is scheduled to open to the public in the spring of 2008.  [more…]

The sophomore forward has tallied at least one point in all seven games he has played this season. He had a goal and five assists in three games this past week, including matching a school record with a four-assist performance in a 6-3 win against Cortland.
