Men's basketball player Antonio Samedi (St. Albans/ Queens Vocational) was named the Buffalo State Athlete of the Week. The sophomore center helped the Bengals to a 94-76 win over Worcester State on Saturday. The computer information systems major netted a career-high 14 points and added six rebounds and four blocks. [more…]

Men's hockey player Kyle Gunn-Taylor (W. Seneca/ Orchard Park) was named the Buffalo State Athlete of the Week after posting his first two wins of the season in a home sweep over Lebanon Valley. The sophomore goalie recorded a 1.50 goals against average and a .935 save percentage. An English education major, Gunn-Taylor had 25 stops in Friday's 4-1 win, and made 18 saves in a 3-2 victory on Saturday. [more…]

Three local college football players, including Buffalo State’s Scott Forster (E. Otto/ Cattaraugus-Little Valley), have been named as the 2007 WNY College Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the Western New York Amateur Football Alliance. They will be honored at the organization’s annual season-ending awards banquet on Monday, December 10 at Ilio DiPaolo’s Restaurant in Blasdell, along with three HS football scholar-athletes from the area. [more…]

Men's basketball player Dion Mozelle (Rego Park/ Xaverian) was named the Buffalo State Athlete of the Week. The senior forward led the Bengals to a home win of SUNYIT last Friday, posting 19 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Mozelle, majoring in individualized studies, leads the Bengals, averaging 16.7 points and 7.7 rebounds through three games. [more…]
