For the second-consecutive week, track athletes Willie Hordge (Buffalo/ Forestbrook TX) and Toya Edwards (Brooklyn/ Clara Barton) were named the Buffalo State Co-Athletes of the Week, as both were three-time New York State Champions this past weekend. Hordge, a junior health and wellness major, won the 200-meter dash with an NCAA qualifying time of 21.29 and had a provisional qualifying time winning the 400-meter dash in 48.06. He also anchored the winning 4x100-meter relay team the had a provisional time of 41.68. Edwards, a freshman health and wellness major, also won the 100-meter with a provisional time of 12.29, won the 200-meter with a provisional time of 24.95, and anchored the 4x100-meter winners that also had a provisional and school record time of 48.28. Hordge and Edwards were also named the New York State Track Athletes of the Year in the male and female categories respectively. [more…]

BROCKPORT, NY--Buffalo State set three new school records and captured eight titles at the NYSCTC Championships today at Special Olympics Stadium in Brockport. The men finished fourth of 15 teams, and the women were fifth of 16. Head Coach Eugene Lewis was voted the NYSCTC Women's Coach of the Year.
