The women's track sprinters Anika Niles (Brooklyn/ Samuel J. Tilden), Katya Marin (Mt. Vernon/ Mt. Vernon), Latoya D. Edwards (Brooklyn/ Clara Barton) and Taniqua Hollingsworth (Buffalo/East) were named the Buffalo State Athletes of the Week. The foursome won the 4x100-meter relay with a school record and NCAA provisional time of 48.05, 1.63 seconds ahead of the next closest team. [more…]

Softball player Jordan Banach (Cheektowaga/ Maryvale) was named the Buffalo State Athlete of the Week. The senior shortstop had seven hits, including a double and four homeruns in the Bengals' 4-4 week. Banach, a fine arts major, also had eight RBIs and seven runs scored. She ranks second in school history with 25 career homeruns, behind Deanna Hunt's 32. [more…]

Women's lacrosse player Katie Henderson (Lakeview/ Frontier) became the third-consecutive lacrosse player to be named Buffalo State Athlete of the Week. The sophomore health and wellness major helped the Bengals stay unbeaten in SUNYAC play. Henderson scored four goals to help Buffalo State defeat Geneseo for the first time in 13 tries on Tuesday, and then tied a school record for goals in a game with eight in a win at Potsdam on Saturday. She leads the Bengals with 33 goals in eight games. [more…]

Women's lacrosse goalkeeper Ashley O'Brien (Lima/ Honeoye Falls-Lima) was named the Buffalo State Athlete of the Week. The freshman psychology major backstopped the Bengals to a 2-0 SUNYAC start.
