Michael Parks taught for 6 years in a K-8th grade school in central Indiana before beginning his doctoral work at Ball State University, where he taught for two years. In 1981 he joined the faculty of the Art Education Department at Buffalo State, chairing the department for 12 years, 1990-2002. He is the author of the book The Art Teacher’s Desktop Reference, published by Prentice Hall, and articles that have appeared in Art Education, Studies in Art Education, The NYSATA News, the NAEA News, and Artvoice. He served as President of NYSATA (1991-1992) and Vice-President & Trustee of the NAEA (2002-2004).
