Arts on Campus
Buffalo State is known for its extensive programs in the visual, performing, and literary arts, providing many opportunities for students and members of the community to engage in a large variety of arts activities. These include plays and concerts, exhibitions and poetry readings, and include the areas of art conservation, art education, art history, ceramics, creative writing, dance, design, fiber design, furniture, interior design, jewelry, music, painting, paper-making, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and theater.
In addition to student work, professional and world-class installations and performances are a regular feature of Buffalo State's programming, especially at the Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall, and at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center, dedicated to Western New York artists and the work of Charles E. Burchfield, the foremost American watercolorist of the twentieth century.
The college also hosts several unique installation spaces on campus, including Upton Hall Gallery and Gallery 234.

Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall
The Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall features new and established artists from a variety of musical styles and genres and hosts "Artsplorations," a series of performances for young audiences. Recently at the Performing Arts Center: David Sanborn, Roger McGuinn, Rockapella, and the East Village Opera Company.
