Welcome to the School of Arts and Humanities (SAH) Faculty Handbook.
To support our faculty, the School’s greatest asset, SAH has developed this section detailing a wide variety of resources, including policies, procedures, and forms. Also available here are course listings, the academic calendar, and Web resources especially appropriate for Arts and Humanities faculty.
A number of documents define policies and procedures for personnel actions. The Policies of the Board of Trustees of the State University of New York explain renewal, continuing appointment and promotion.
Each department maintains documents on renewal, promotion and tenure, including a statement on scholarship, research and creative activity. Like the letter of expectations, these documents provide clarification to the more general documents issued by the dean's office and Academic Affairs.
