Opened in 1991, the Ice Arena boasts seven locker rooms, a concession area, vending machines, a skate shop with sharpening and rentals, a 200' x 85' ice surface and a seating capacity of 1,800.

The Ice Arena is the home rink for Buffalo State's men's and women's varsity hockey programs, as well as Canisius College's men's hockey team. The arena serves as a practice facility for the Buffalo Sabres, has hosted the NJCAA Championships, the Buffalo Skating Club, and several youth and senior hockey leagues. The arena is also a host site for the Western New York Federation High School Hockey regular season and championship playoffs.

The arena provides open skating, skate-n-shoot, and Learn-to-Skate programs, and skate rental to students, faculty and staff as well as the general public.

Weekday open skating: $2
Weeknight and weekend open skating: $2 for children/students, $3 for adults,
Free to Buffalo State students with a valid ID

Skate rental: $2 for adults, $1 for children/students

Skate-n-Shoot: $5 for skaters. Goaltenders are free.
