Softball player Jordan Banach (Cheektowaga/ Maryvale) was named the Buffalo State Athlete of the Week. The senior shortstop hit .500 during the SUNYAC Championships, leading the Bengals to the title game, before falling 3-1 to Cortland. Banach, a fine arts major led the team with seven hits and had a double, a homerun and five RBIs. She was also named to the All-Tournament Team. [more…]

Jolene Banach (Cheektowaga/ Maryvale) and Nicole Maher (Waterloo/ Waterloo) represented Buffalo State on the Lousiville Slugger/NFCA Division III Northeast All-Region Softball Teams. Banach was selected to the Second Team, and Maher was named Third Team. [more…]

FREDONIA, NY—The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference teams for the 2008 season and four Buffalo State student-athletes, the most ever in program history, were recognized. Katie Henderson (Lakeview/ Frontier) and Ashley Parker (Watertown/ Watertown) garnered First Team honors while Shantel Ackley (Baldwinsville/ C.W. Baker) and Katie Lyons (Williamsville/Williamsville North) were named to the Second Team.  [more…]
