The women's lacrosse team at Buffalo State has steadily improved since the inception of the emerging sport in 1994. The team posted school-best 10-4 record in 2004 and made its first-ever trip to the SUNYAC playoffs. This spring sport plays its home contests on Coyer Field against SUNYAC and other area foes. The team begins preparation for its 10 to 15 game annual schedule in late fall with conditioning practices.
With outdoor practice fields and indoor training at the Buffalo State Sports Arena and Houston Gym, the team is supported with the tools to succeed. This relatively new program has begun to establish its roots by planting a number of individuals on All-Conference squads as well as on the IWLCA Division III Academic Team, and Meg Stevens was named SUNYAC Lacrosse Coach of the Year in 2004.
