Renee Carlineo, Ryan Lynn


Meg Stevens is in her sixth year as the head coach of Buffalo State's lacrosse program. After leading the Bengals to a school record for wins in a season in her first year, she watched her Bengals better that mark in her second season as the team secured its first-ever SUNYAC playoff berth as one of the conference’s top teams. Stevens was recognized for her efforts as the SUNYAC and IWLCA Regional Coach of the Year in 2004. Following the 2005 season, she coached in the Division III North-South All-Star Game. Stevens led the Bengals back to the SUNYAC postseason in 2006. In five seasons at Buffalo State, she has accumulated an overall record of 40-33.

Stevens came to Buffalo State after spending four seasons as an integral part of Cortland’s nationally ranked lacrosse program. She brings a wealth of knowledge to a program that has taken significant strides since its inception in 1994. The native of Delmar, NY, is the seventh coach in the team’s history.

As a player at Cortland, she helped the Red Dragons to three-consecutive SUNYAC Championships as well as three-straight trips to the NCAA playoffs. As a senior, she tallied 39 goals and 14 assists in 19 games, including scoring a pair of goals in the team’s first-ever victory in the NCAA postseason. Stevens spent one year as the head coach of the Bethlehem High School girls' junior varsity lacrosse program, and assisted with the varsity program that advanced to the state semifinals.  Recently, she has served as a facilitator at the NCAA and Division III Regional Leadership Conferences.

Prior to coming to Buffalo State, Stevens interned as a special events coordinator with the Women’s Sports Foundation and with the Eastern College Athletic Association. She also served as a chair for the NCAA's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and was a member of the NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics, the NCAA Division III Task Force, and the Cortland Intercollegiate Athletics Board.

Stevens completed her bachelor's degree in recreation and leisure management with a minor in sports management and earned a master's in student personnel administration at Buffalo State. Her other duties at Buffalo State include heading the athletics department's CHAMPS/Life Skills program and serving as the staff liaison for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.

Assistant Coach Renee Carlineo

Renee Carlineo joins the Bengals' coaching staff for the 2008 season.  She has spent the last three seasons as the head girls lacrosse coach at Corning West High School and has also served as the coach of the Corning Skyhawks U-14 team.  Prior to her time in Corning, she was a graduate assistant coach with Ithaca College, and also worked with the Queensland Developmental Youth Lacrosse Program in Australia.  Her playing experience includes two years as a captain, goalie and Academic All-American at Corning East High School.  She also had stints with Penn State and Ithaca College, and played with the Griffith Club Team in Australia.  Carlineo has a bachelor's in sport psychology with minors in coaching and applied exercise science and a master's in sport and exercise science - sport psychology, both from Ithaca.  An NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), she is also a member of the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology (AAASP).  She currently resides in Buffalo and is teaching kinesiology in Buffalo State's coaching minor.

Assistant Coach Ryan Lynn

Ryan joined the Bengals' staff in 2006 and is be responsible for the development of the team's goalies. His previous coaching experience includes two years as an assistant with the Brine Upstate Lacrosse League (BULL), before being promoted to head coach in 2002. This past year, he served as the head boys' lacrosse coach of the modified team at his alma mater Baldwinsville High School. Following a successful playing career at Baldwinsville, Ryan was the starting goalie for the University at Buffalo's club team, where he was an All-Conference selection for two years. He completed his bachelor's degree in psychology and is currenly pursuing a master's in student personnel administration at Buffalo State.
