Sculptures at Buffalo State College

The sculptures that are scattered all over the Buffalo State College campus can be seen every day when students walk from one building to the other.

Do we even notice them anymore?

They seem to be everywhere: in the library, Moot Hall, quite a few on the lawns between buildings and a big scary-looking one outside the Student Union. They’re on walls, behind rails and in pools. There’s even one you can sit in outside the Study Quad in the lobby.

Homecoming 2005: Bigger, bolder, better

Homecoming 2005 may not be happening until the weekend of Oct. 20-22, but organizers have already started planning for what they hope will be the most successful one yet.

Associate athletics director for external affairs, Tom Koller, is serving his fourth year as homecoming steering committee chairman and plans to make the upcoming celebration more popular than ever.

“Our steering committee has a little saying this year, ‘Bigger, bolder, better,’” Koller said. “My philosophy three years ago was to reignite homecoming, because it had gotten a little stale. So we put together a fantastic committee of people that came to the table with some great ideas. We tried to put some energy back into homecoming.”

The Chemistry Club won “Best Student Organization” in Homecoming 2004’s shopping cart float competition.

Stop the violence
Mohandas Gandhi once said: “We must be the change we wish to see in the world.” It is a philosophy that his grandson, Arun Gandhi, the founder of the M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence, lives by and passes along to ears that care to listen. Gandhi discussed “Nonviolence as a positive way of life,” at Buffalo State College.

The ballots are in
The 973 student ballots are in, the votes have been counted and the Buffalo State College United Students Government President is Matthew Levin-Stankevich.
