To cap off its Spring
2005 season, Casting Hall is producing the play “Colorado
Catechism,” written by Vincent Cardinal and directed
by Gerry Trentham.
The play focuses on two
characters, Ty and Donna, who meet in a drug and alcohol
rehabilitation center in Colorado while trying to gain control
of their lives.
• Ty, played by
James Fauvell, is a painter from New York City who has hit
rock bottom.
• Donna, played by Arianna Boykins, is a divorced
mother and teacher from Indiana who is at the center for
her third time. She is afraid of losing her son for good
if she doesn’t turn her life around.
• Throughout the play they support and complicate
each other’s recovery.
Boykins said: “It’s
very realistic. The characters talk and act like regular
people and it sort of bridges the gap between stereotypes
of people in rehab and the reality of people in rehab. Throughout
the show, you realize that they aren’t much different
than anybody else.”
Meredith Collins, a theater
major who has been involved behind the scenes of the show,
said: “It’s entertaining. The characters are
so different from one another, that it’s almost like
watching “The Odd Couple” fall in love.”
Tickets can be purchased
from the Rockwell Hall Box Office Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.
