May means cramming for finals and finishing
up projects, but for graduating Buffalo State College seniors
it can mean entering the real world.
Commencement kick-off began on April 13th,
allowing soon to be graduates to buy their caps, gowns and
tassels. Diploma covers and graduation announcements are
also available for individual purchase. A student can buy
the “special bachelor's package,” for a reduced
price of $59.98 (compared to $82.44 to purchase separatly),
and receive the cover, 10 announcements, cap, gown and tassel.
Each student will get six tickets to the ceremony free of
charge. All graduation paraphernalia is available for purchase
at the BSC Barnes and Noble bookstore.

Graduation, which takes place on May 14th,
will include students scheduled and approved to graduate
in May and August, along with those who graduated in December
of 2004. There are two ceremonies, one at 10 a.m. and another
at 2 p.m. Students are allowed to choose which ceremony
they want to attend, however it’s first come, first
served. Both ceremonies are identical.

“The year book is a great deal,”
said Laura Grieser a BSC communications student. “I
never bought one because I never knew it was so cheap.”

undergraduate ceremonies. Des Forges is the senior advisor

Graduates are also encouraged to invite faculty
and staff to commencement by sending a special invitation.
This invitation is not included as one of the six the student
receives. http://www.buffalostate.edu/commencement/x594.xml
“The faculty and staff have been a
great help to me this semester,” said Crystal Sanders
a communications student at BSC. “I can’t see
the graduation taking place with out their presence.”
For those graduates and their family and
friends who may not be able to attend the ceremony, there
is live video streaming available via the BSC Web site as
well as in the Bulger Communication Center.
There is a reception immediately following
each ceremony in the Campbell Hall Student Union.
