Fight the Flu

IFlu season is almost here; but there are things one can do to prevent from getting sick.

The flu is a viral illness that is spread by person-to-person contact, said Weigel Health Center Director Dr. Theresa Stephan-Hains. The Centers for Disease Control (http://www.cdc.gov/flu/keyfacts.htm) estimates that up to 20 percent of the U.S. population gets the flu every year, according to its Web site. 

 

The Career Development Center workshops increase resume potential

According to Resume edge, an online aid for writing resumes employers will scan quickly and decide if they like the applicant within 10 seconds.

How can students have their resume noticed within such a short amount of time?  The key to writing a resume is in a very succinct way according to the Career Development Center guidelines

 

 

ORCA helps students find jobs

Books in the E.H. Butler Library have grown feet.   

The books are part of a program called the Paperback Release Program that was started on Sept. 15, and is located in the library’s Copier Lounge.

The 2005 fall semester marks the second term that Buffalo State College students have the chance to get a free ride to school. The question is, why aren’t they?

Buffalo State College students that require brand name prescription drug medications may find themselves in financial bind, but the Weigel Health Center wants them to know help is out there.

Bengals induct five into hall of fame
The Buffalo State Bengals Football team won the game earlier in the day and then a world class champion and Buffalo State graduate was inducted into the Buffalo State Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday Oct. 22. The induction came on homecoming, as all five inductees were introduced prior to the football game to the crowd. The Hall of fame has inducted 143 previous athletes and athletic program supporters.

A touch of warmth from Buffalo State College students
Social work students will help warm up the streets this winter by collecting clothes for Buffalo’s homeless.

It may be possible that human influence is contributing to the record-setting number of hurricanes that are slamming the United States this season.
