Do you miss eating a home-cooked meal?
Are you tired of eating food from the Social Hall?
Well, the Newman Center at Buffalo State College is serving delicious free home-cooked meals at the Newman Center to Buffalo State college students on Thursday evenings.
The center begins serving dinner at 6:30 p.m.
All students are welcomed.
“The food that is served on Thursday nights is provided by individuals in the community who volunteered to cook for the students,” said Brian Oliver, campus minister.

- casseroles
- salads
- desserts
- appetizers
- four course meals
- poultry
- fish
- pasta
- drinks
According to Oliver about 45 to 60 students attend the free dinners on
Thursday evenings.
“Our goal is to provide a comfortable social environment for the students so they can meet and eat and also get involved in other programs that the center offers,” said Oliver. “Students do not have to be Catholic in order to attend the dinners.”
The Newman Center is a Catholic Campus Ministry at Buffalo State College.
The center provides numerous social events and activities for students.

There are many religious and non-religious groups that attend the dinners.
“S.P.i.R.i.T Gospel Choir comes to dinner every single week,” said Oliver. “We try to work together any way we can to support each other’s ministry.”
“We attend the Thursday evening dinners every chance we get,” said senior Courtney Miller, president of Students Performing in Rhythm and in Truth Gospel Choir. “The dinners are great and it is also a good way to get off campus.
S.P.i.R.i.T. Gospel Choir is an organization at Buffalo State College.
Students who have attended the center for the free Thursday night dinners have all said that they enjoyed themselves and that they are happy that they attended.
“When I come here I get together with other students, we talk, meet new people and reconnect with people we already meet,” said junior Stacey Wasieczko.
“We try to make everyone feel welcomed to the center,” said Oliver. “We want the center to be a home-away-from-home to the students.”
“Everyone here at the center is very nice and they make you feel right at home,” said junior Joelle Rueze.
