Since 1994, Buffalo State College in conjunction with
Albright-Knox Art Gallery www.albrightknox.org/ have
been offering students the opportunity to view art exhibits
at a low cost. Tickets
are $6 and can be purchased now and until the last day
of the semester at Rockwell Hall box office www.buffalostate.edu/pac/boxoffice/.
The box office is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
The passes entitle students to view the permanent collection
and the guest collection, Extreme Abstraction, running
through Oct. 2. Passes are not valid for other special
exhibits, such as The Wall, opening Oct. 21 and running
through Jan. 29, 2006.
“The program was started by Patricia Cummins, former
dean of arts and humanities at Buffalo State College and
Anne Hayes, development director at Albright-Knox,” stated
Dawn Pustelnik, audience service manager at Rockwell Hall.
For $25, a year-long pass can be purchased and it entitles
the student to:
- free admission to special exhibits
- members only benefits
- 10 percent discount at the gift shop
- access to classes and workshops
“The passes became available in fall 1994 for $3
and were only offered to art students; then in the spring
of 1995, they became accessible to all students for $6,” said
Teresa Perillo, a student at Buffalo State College.
