The Graduate
School Fair is at Buffalo State College for
its 16th year. This year’s fair features
representatives from over 50 local and national schools,
and is separate from the Law School Fair for the first
time at BSC.
The Career
Development Center is sponsoring the fair, which
is a yearly event on campus.
The Law
School Fair, which used to be held in conjunction
with the grad school fair, is now a collaborative effort
between four-year schools in the Buffalo area in order
for students to get a wider range of information from
more law schools.
From
11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18 in the Campbell
Student Union Social Hall, students will be able to
meet with representatives to learn more about educational
opportunities offered by these schools. The schools
have programs ranging from social work to business.
The
fair is also having a free drawing and
the prize, a free entrance exam prep course, is valued
at over $1,000.
According
to the CDC, all students—freshman to senior—are
encouraged to attend, but the fair would most benefit those
ready to attend grad school. Jessie Lombardo,
Senior Career Counselor for the CDC, wants everyone
even considering graduate school to attend the fair.
Lombardo
said the CDC is a great resource for graduate school information,
and provides resources from application tips to financial
aid.
The
fair is free to students and BSC alumni, said Lombardo.
“Even
if you already graduated, come back for the fairs,” she
said.
The
CDC is located in Grover Cleveland Hall, Room 306, and
the number is (716) 878-5811. For a complete list
of schools participating in the fair, go to the CDC’s
website.
