An EZ approach to peer reviewed articles

By Tiffany Kellogg

A solution for online searching has arrived for students at Buffalo State College. E. H.  Butler Library www.buffalostate.edu/library/  and Ebsco Publishing have developed Peer Reviewed Articles EZ, a program designed to assist students in online searching for articles. The articles now have easier links to bigger subjects and more search results.

“Peer reviewed articles are articles taken from scholarly journals and put through a special review process,” said a reference librarian Donna Davidoff. “These articles have been reviewed or juried by experts from specific fields.”

To get started, click on the Peer Reviewed Articles EZ button under the Find Articles link on the library’s web page and begin searching.

Albert Riess, riessaf@buffalostate.edu the electronic database librarian for Buffalo State College, is in charge of the peer reviewed articles and the archives at the library.

“We have twin databases, one for scholarly journals and one for peer reviewed articles. This is for students who come in and tell us that their teacher wanted them to look something up, but they are not sure where to start. We bring them to the computer and show them this program to get them started.” said Riess.
