Spring Ball may become Buff State's prom
By Beth Steinbruckner

Buffalo State College has a homecoming every year. But in the spring there is no prom, a tradition many remember from high school. The Asian Student Organization is looking to change that.

This year, for the first time, the ASO is sponsoring a free Spring Ball on April 17 th in the Student Union. There is no prom in college, it would be fun if there was something in the spring, said Champa Kong, the treasurer of the ASO.

“It will be a fun spring event,” said ASO President Champey Kong.

  • There will be a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. with free finger food.
  • From 7 p.m. to midnight there will be a dance in the social hall of the Student Union.

The evening will be a formal event. There will be a photographer in the assembly hall from 6 to 10 p.m., the treasurer said. Students can have their pictures taken and pick prints to buy from the photographer's Web site.

Students need a free ticket to enter the reception. Tickets will be available in the ASO office in Cassety 129 after spring break, Champa said. The dance does not require a ticket. It will be a nice night where people can relax, she said.

“Hopefully, a lot of people attend,” The president said.
