By Kevin Donovan

Buffalo State College has announced its employee of the year. Sponsored by the Northeast Association of Student Employment Administrators, the Buffalo State Career Development Center and the Buffalo State Financial Aid Office, this award is designed to recognize the accomplishments of students who work at the college while attending it. Such an honor is presented to the student who best displays dedication, effectiveness, maturity and overall awareness of how important it is to be a working student.

This year’s recipient of the Buffalo State College Student Employee of the Year is senior Viktoriya Magid. Nominated by her supervisors, Jurgis Karuza Jr., professor and chair of the psychology department, and Janet Pulka, secretary of the psychology department, Magid will accept the award and be honored on Friday April 4th. A special luncheon will be presented to her as well by the Niagara Frontier College Placement Association.

Magid began working in the psychology department in January of 2000 and quickly became a very important part of the department. Members of the psychology Department have stated that she completely exemplifies all of the criteria to be an employee of the year. Not only did she win this award, she also accepted the David Vernon Bullough award for the outstanding senior in psychology. Magid will be attending the University at Buffalo in the years to come where she will seek her doctorate in clinical psychology.
