The award-winning Promise
Theatre brings its latest show, “Getting it Right,”
to Rockwell Hall this weekend. Saturday’s show begins
at 8 p.m. Sunday’s starts at 3 p.m.
“Getting It Right,” looks at the Kingdom of
Heaven throughout history.
Promise Theatre Founder and Director Jane
Pecora leads the production of “Getting it Right,”
her ninth original musical comedy. Pecora’s previous
credits include the popular “Godspell,” and
seven other original works.
“It adapts several bible parables
or stories that are each about the Kingdom of Heaven to
modern day,” Pecora said about “Getting it Right.”
“It is filled with singing, dancing, marching and
clean, fun humor.”
Pecora also runs a creative music company
in which she writes and composes music for weddings.
The show features a variety of music, including
three three-part acapella songs.
“Hopefully they (the audience)
will leave humming a song,” Pecora said about the
music.
The Promise Theatre started in 1998. According
to its Web site, they try to provide wholesome entertainment
with strong moral and family values.
“It’s (The Promise Theatre)
goals are to maintain a high standard of performance, develop
new and original works, and provide opportunity for new
talent,” according to the Promise Theatre Web site.
Stage Manager David Ryan
worked with Pecora on all nine of her shows. Ryan loves
to work with Pecora because she makes the experience enjoyable.
“It’s an interesting show
and I always know that working on Jane’s shows is
going to be fun,” Ryan said.
Ryan not only enjoyed working with Pecora
but the entire cast of “Getting it Right.”
“I enjoyed most while working
on ‘Getting it Right,’ getting to know the individuals
of the cast,” Ryan said. “There a great bunch
of people.”
Ryan and Pecora hope the audience leaves
and tells people about their experience at the play.
“I hope the audience leaves with
the feeling to go tell more people about the show,”
Ryan said. “I hope they leave feeling entertained.”
“I hope the audience will leave
feeling they must tell someone to go and see it because
it is funny, fun and colorful,” Pecora said.
Ticket prices vary for the shows.
Today’s price for all seats is $5.
Adult tickets for shows Friday, Saturday; and Sunday are
$10, while children cost $12 and children 12 and under are
