BSC holds fourth annual Union Bash

By Leslie Baer

For the fourth year in a row, Buffalo State College will be hosting its annual Union Bash this April 11th from 6 p.m. until midnight. The free Union Bash, for anyone who may be unfamiliar with the event, is a “collaborative weekend event held for the entire community, coordinated by the Office of Student Life,” according to Rene Kauder, graduate assistant at the Student Life Office.

There are many different events being held at the bash. Participants will be able to “travel” to different “countries” throughout the Campbell Student Union. Special family and children’s programming will also be held from 6 to 8 p.m.

A few of the other activities that students, faculty, staff and their families can experience includes:

  • bingo and various casino games
  • free massages in the Spa Getaway
  • poetry and jazz are being held in the café
  • the many cultures of Buffalo State student organizations can be experienced aboard the “USG Cruise Lines”
  • a live acoustic performance and a DJ
  • trivia games where more prizes can be won
  • a bonfire to warm you up afterward just outside of the Union
There is also much more fun, games and entertainment which is being kept a surprise.

The planning committee in the Student Life Office encourages all students to “mark your calendars to attend” and to “bring whoever you’d like.” Also, “inform any students that you are in contact with about this great event and encourage them to participate,” said Kauder.

Also, the Student Life Office is looking for volunteers to help. Specifically, they want people with artistic talent to help build props and decorate. Also, they are looking for any possible donations that can be used as prizes throughout the night. If anyone would be interested in helping out or has any questions about the Union Bash, contact Kauder at 878-4631.
