Sabre: know what's changed

The new Buffalo State College online registration eliminates stressful lines and disorganized procedures at the end of each semester, but there is a little change that's happening for the online registration. This change is for everyone who uses the system. In mid-March students received information detailing the specific changes via:
- e-mail
- posters
- an updated "Test Drive"
- new Quick Tips brochure
Students and faculty who visited the login page www.buffalostate.edu/sabre in mid-March, were informed that Sabre was unavailable. As of April 12, it's up and running, but everyone needs to be aware of the changes so they can successfully register for classes.
What has changed?
User name and password is the major change in the registration program. Upon logging in, students will be prompted to sign in with their user name and the first six digits of their social security number as the password. This was not the case at the end of the fall 2003 semester. Each username had a personal password of their choice. Now Immediately after login with the first 6 digits of the Social Security number as the password, the student will be promted to change the password to anything that they'd like.
Sabre front door
There are certain things that students need to be aware of while at the front door of Sabre before registering for classes for summer or spring 2004. They are:
- know your username and password
- timeslots for registration date
- consult with your adviser to plan your schedule
- resolve any outstanding holds on your account
When do I register?
Registration begins at 1 a.m. on the specified time for the student to register. After that, Sabre can be accessed up until the first week of classes to make any changes. Daily hours of operation are:
- weekdays: 1 a.m.- 8 p.m.
- weekends: 1 a.m. Saturday through 8 p.m. Sunday
- any additional times when the system is unavailable are posted in the Sabre site, www.buffalostate.edu/sabre/students
Students will be informed about any additional changes through their Buffalo State Email. It is advised to test drive the program before the specified registration time to ensure that user names and passwords are working properly.
