Rumors of Bengal buggy no more
By Christina DeStefano

Have you ever taken a ride on the Bengal buggy?   Many students here at Buffalo State College feel that they are a necessity.   The only problem is, some students say they are sometimes nowhere to be found.

There are rumors going around campus that Buff State will no longer be offering the Bengal buggies to students.   Some students, they could basically care less, they feel as though when they need them, they are never there.

"I have been here three years and was never even on one," said Sarah Wilson, a junior. "I see them all of the time but no one is ever on them."

Some students would like to ride the Bengal buggies but some say they always seem to pass them by.   The reason for this may be because there are certain stops on campus where the Bengal buggy picks students up.  Some students say that they do not even know where these stops are located.

"The Bengal buggies are always driving past me when I need them," said Nicole Garey, a sophomore. "I never even knew there were stops until recently and I still do not know where the stops are to this day!"

So, could the rumors be true?  Is Buffalo State College going to do away with the Bengal buggies?

Crime Prevention/Community Relations Officer Donald Agen would like students to know what plans are under deep consideration at the moment regarding the Bengal buggies.

"My understanding is that eliminating the Bengal buggies all together is one consideration at the moment," said Agen, "There are three major considerations that are in possible consideration."
  • Providing different vehicles that seat two to three passengers like the ones seen on campus.
  • Researching a new and different vehicle on campus.
  • Doing away with the Bengal buggies.
"All three are just under consideration," said Agen, "No decisions have been made yet and will not be until next month."

So, the rumors are true after all.  We shall all see next semester!
