Do you need a tutor?

Katrina Whitlow It's the sixth week of class and midterms are approaching. If students are feeling overwhelmed and stressed because of a class, the academic resource center has tutoring available. Free tutoring is available through the Educational Opportunity Program and open to all students. EOP is an academic support service program, designed to assist students who, because of limited financial and academic resources, have not had sufficient opportunities or access in higher education “Students should take advantage of the free tutoring. This program has been around for several years,” said Assistant Director Abi Hajikandi.” The tutorial services are available at the academic resource center, located at Buffalo State's College South Wing 730. “All students are welcomed to just drop in. Although some tutors are by appointment only,” said adviser Maria Brickhouse. The Academic Resource Center includes:
- two full-time professors
- over 30 academic mentors
- A support staff from a variety of academic disciplines: chemistry, Spanish, psychology.
