Wilson, of the Independent Media Center of Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, McChesney called WILL “the most open-minded public radio station.” On the program, he is critical of the media's coverage of politics and how media is a “ direct result of government policies.”

McChesney has been brought into speak by:

  • BSC communication department
  • Niagara University communication studies department
  • Buffalo Coalition for Progressive Media

The Buffalo Coalition for Progressive Media will be at the event to talk about

how to support Pacifica Public Radio in Buffalo.

McChesney has been a guest on the Pacifica Radio Foundation's Web site. He has discussed different media topics such as recent FCC rulings . He is opposed to FCC votes that he said could “lead to the largest wave of media consolidation in U.S history.”

Associate Professor Dr. Michael I. Niman is a member of the Buffalo Coalition for Progressive Media. Niman believes that students will be especially interested in hearing McChesney.

“He will talk about corporate consolidated ownership of the media,” said Niman. “It will be interesting to students because it is about the future of the industry.”
