Buffalo State College Wind Ensemble performed a free concert, at the Performing Arts Center located at Rockwell Hall, under the direction of Assistant Professor Ricky Fleming.“I think people really enjoyed this performance, because this year we played recent pieces, mostly 20 th century genre of music,” said Wind Ensemble member, Collen Luckman.
One of the concerts highlights was a solo from Crystal Hearne Reinoso, who is a clarinet professor. She also teaches woodwind, music theory and directs the woodwind chamber music ensembles. The wind ensemble accompanied her in the performance.
“Since the wind ensemble has been under the direction Fleming, we have been performing more difficult pieces of music each year,” said Wind Ensemble member Tim Lupps.
Fleming conducts Buffalo State's wind ensemble which consist of music majors and non majors, with about 50 members. He also conducts the jazz emsemble and teaches applied low brass.
The Wind Ensemble's next performance will be April 28, at 8 p.m. , it will also be free . If you would like additional information please contact (716) 878-6401.
