- A division III athletic sports program.
- Over 25 fraternities and sororities.
- Over 100 organizations for every common interest.
Buffalo State College is very well known for
its extracurricular activities, and its wide array of student
organizations.
Most known for its sports teams and fraternities,
most students are not aware of the hundreds of other organizations
that they could be apart of.
When Junior Jon Dalbo came to Buffalo State he wanted to
do more then just take his classes. He wanted to be more
involved in his school, and wasn’t sure where to start.
He looked around campus for fliers on polls, and listened
to notices that teachers gave. Still nothing appealed to
him.
“ I looked and looked and all I could
find were things that appealed to everyone but me,”
he said.
One morning Jon Dalbo walked into the Student
Union and noticed “WBNY” on the wall, so he
walked in and found what was home for him. WBNY is the college
radio station, and is broadcasted on 91.3 FM, and Dalbo
is a DJ on the station on numerous days.
“WBNY is for me. I love the radio and
I love being involved with the school,” he said.
WBNY is just one of the hundreds of organizations
Buffalo State has to offer. Whether based on your major,
religion, or common interest there something for everyone.
Senior Chris Ring enjoyed being involved with
music and concert promotions. He joined the Student Union
Board and is the concert chair. He also joined the organization
for students in music. Ring stated that by becoming more
involved with Buffalo State it has made his experience in
college much better.
If you’re trying to find out the best
organization for you check out the Buffalo State web page.
It lists of the organizations, and fraternities and sports
teams that are available to the student body.
