On April 22, Buffalo State College began
its online registration program, SABRE (Student Admissions,
Aid, Billing, Registration, and Enroll Management), and
so far things are looking good.
Bubble sheets are a thing of the past, and students no longer
have to come to the campus to register. All they need to
do now is log on at home.
“It’s very convenient,” says Rene Wiser
(communications major at Buffalo State College), “I
logged on early in the morning on my registration date,
and I got all the classes I wanted.”
Some students said they were extremely competent with the
new software, some said they were excited to try something
different, and some said they were just relieved to get
rid of the bubble sheets.
“It’s so easy, and fun, it’s like using
E-Bay,” says Buffalo State student Tatchy Kragbe.
While some students seemed to have a great understanding
of SABRE there was the occasional student who had difficulty.
When that happened they were able to visit the E.H. Butler
Library for assistance.
“When I first tried using SABRE, I just didn’t
understand it,” says BSC student Joe Todaro, “but
because they had staff at the library to help you, I am
now registered for next semester.”
SABRE is the future for Buffalo State College, and students
seem to be pleased with that. Most will never forget the
bubble sheets, but at the same time, most are glad to be
rid of them.
