About the Bulletin
The Bulletin is a weekly online newsletter produced by the College Relations Office for Buffalo State faculty, staff, and emeriti. It is published most Thursdays during the academic year. The Bulletin conveys news and information relevant to the campus community regarding Buffalo State College, the State University of New York, and higher education. The publication also showcases the academic and creative accomplishments of Buffalo State faculty and staff members, as well as the college’s public and media relations efforts, its scholarly events and forums, and its integral relationship with Western New York. The Bulletin is the official source for policy, personnel, and curricular matters.

Submission of Achievements
Submit achievements via the online form or e-mail information to email@example.com with “achievements” in the subject line. Please include your name, title, department or office, e-mail address, and a brief description of your accomplishment(s), including date(s). Items are subject to editing and are generally limited to activities completed during the past six months. Copy deadline is 4:30 p.m. Monday of publication week.
Submission of Images
Submission of photographs is encouraged, however, the editor makes no assurances regarding the use of provided material and reserves the right to resize or reformat images. Each person in the photo should be clearly identified, and all submissions should be labeled for return. Mail or deliver to Cleveland Hall 307. Electronic submissions with minimum resolutions of 200 dpi are encouraged. Please submit images via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Preferred file formats are JPEG (*.jpg) and TIFF (*.tif). Submission of photographs implies permission to publish.
Submission of Articles
College Relations welcomes ideas and suggestions for articles in accordance with its editorial policy. To contribute or discuss submissions, contact the editor. Copy deadline is 4:30 p.m. Monday of publication week.
Bulletin articles are selected for their relevance and interest to readers. The Bulletin editor works with the staff of College Relations and other members of the campus community to develop content according to the following criteria:
- A commitment to providing balanced and timely coverage of issues.
- A commitment to offering readers a mix of newsworthy, engaging, and thought-provoking articles about the college, its academic programs, and its employees.
- A commitment to diversity of interest, opinion, and representation.
- A respect and concern for the institution’s history, mission, and values.
The Bulletin is not an appropriate communication tool for:
- Specialized information for a narrow audience such as an individual academic department or administrative unit, etc.
- Commercial or personal announcements, such as rental property, private-business offerings, sale of items to third parties, birth announcements, etc.
- News from other organizations or campuses that does not directly pertain to Buffalo State faculty and staff.
The editor encourages suggestions for articles but makes no assurances regarding the use of suggested or provided material. College Relations will not disseminate messages or material that is of questionable taste, has the potential to be divisive, or does not advance the mission of the college.
The Bulletin neither accepts nor publishes paid advertisements.
