President Howard to Leave Buffalo State; Accepts National Higher Ed Post

Muriel A. Howard, president of Buffalo State College for the past 13 years, will leave her position at the college to become president of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), effective August 1. AASCU is the leadership association of 430 public colleges and universities advocating for public higher education, including federal policies and regulations to ensure access, affordability, and opportunity for students. The association is headquartered in Washington, D.C.

Your Opinion Counts: National Survey of Library-Service Quality

E. H. Butler Library is participating in a national Web-based survey called LibQUAL +, designed to measure library-service quality and identify best practices. The survey runs through April 17. Please take the survey to help the library improve its services and plan for the future.

College Senate Meeting

As a reminder to all senators, the Senate meeting will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 17, in Classroom Building C122. The third Friday date is because Good Friday falls on April 10 this year.

Senate Vacancies: Nomination Period Extended

From the Chair of the College Senate and the Chair of the Bylaws and Elections Committee
Three at-large Senate positions will become vacant on August 25. A call for nominations and information about candidates’ statements can be found on the College Senate Web site. Candidates may nominate themselves or another qualified person by 5:00 p.m. Monday, April 6.
