A Community Academic Center is a collaboration between Buffalo State's Center for Excellence in Urban and Rural Education (CEURE) and Volunteer and Service-Learning Center (VSLC)
CEURE seeks to support efforts in the recruitment, retention, and training of teachers to meet the needs of culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse children in urban and rural schools. The center is also committed to supporting the professional development of practicing teacher and administrators who work in those high needs districts.

The VSLC leads efforts to integrate service with learning in departments across campus while improving the success of local agencies and schools in meeting the needs of community residents.
