Classroom window blinds are routinely checked by the Custodial staff and a list of those needing replacement are then prioritized, ordered and installed.
Office window blinds can be replaced at the individual department’s expense. It is preferred that one of the vendors listed is used as their work is guaranteed, measurements are accurate and the quality of the window treatment is good quality. Campus Services can also get spare parts when necessary, whereas, hardware store bought blinds do not last as long and repair parts are unavailable.
Following is a list of qualified vendors of new window treatments:
Colvin Draperies, (phone) 873-2952, (fax) 875-4929 Contact: Jamie Sturtz
Advanced Window Fashion, (phone) 634-0398, (fax) 634-0399 Contact: Cher Kiristis
J&R Specialties, 265 Berkley Rd. Williamsville, NY 14221, 634-8197 (Jeff)
If a preferred vendor is not chosen, it's common to have problems with size, quality, anchoring, and finding replacement parts when the product breaks. In the long run, we've found that paying for a quality product with quality installation is better than having to repair, replace and reinstall flimsier products sold at the hardware store.
