The Center for Health and Social Research
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Center for Health
and Social (CHSR) is to facilitate the initiation, implementation, and
continuation of research and education at Buffalo State College on
health and social problems, especially alcohol and drug abuse. To
achieve this mission, the CHSR competes for and attracts external
resources to expand the overall capabilities of Buffalo State College to
provide quality education, scholarship, and service. The CHSR studies
both basic and applied research problems, in which community-based
collaborations with service organizations, various governmental
agencies, health professionals, and academics at other institutions are
an integral component. Over $10,000,000 in support from federal, public,
and private agencies has been awarded to the Center since its inception
in 1997.
