New NYSVAA Training Opportunity
On Friday, December 2, 2011 Buffalo State College will be coordinating
a one day institute for crime victim advocates, called
Advocates in Court: An Interdisciplinary Toolkit, that will run from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM at:
22 East 30th Street, at Madison Avenue
New York, NY 10016
Who Should Attend?
Service providers who work with victims of crime in:
- Law Enforcement
- Social Services
- Mental Health & Health Care
- Criminal Justice
- Other Professions
Professionals from the field will model multidisciplinary practices to help
providers with less than 5 years of experience build a toolkit for working
with victims of domestic violence in NYS courts. The training will address
intimate partner violence in several populations, including those protected
by the new Fair Access to Family Court law.
