Spring 2013 Events  

Thursday, February 14, 2013, noon-1:30 pm

Brown Bag CERT Presentation.

Buffalo Fire Department will give presentation on fire prevention and safety.

Weigel Health will give refresher training on first aid and CPR.

Active Shooter Awareness.

In light of recent tragedies (school shooting, fire fighter shooting, etc), Sam Lunetta, former UPD Lieutenant and current Buffalo State Workplace Violence Prevention Officer, will talk to CERT members about active shooter preparedness, witness awareness, etc.

Building Tour. 

New Science and Math Complex (SAMC).

Animal CPR and Animal Care. 

Presentation and demonstration by SPCA.

March 2012 Drills

  Suicide Prevention Training

Thursday, March 22, 2012 - 9 am-10:30 am - Butler Library 210

QPR suicide prevention program that everyone can use.

A program that can save the life of a colleague, neighbor or family member.

QPR is a certified program that gives the gift of Hope.

Presented by Brad Brown and Ron George from the Counseling Center.

 

Building Tour

Friday, March 23, 2012 - 9 am - Science Building

Meet in the main lobby of the Science Building at 9 am with CERT vest, ID and hard hat.

This building is complex, and will be undergoing many changes.  There may be other tours there in the future.

 

SKYWARN Training

April 13, 2012 -  3 pm-5 pm - Classroom Building, Room A209

You must pre-register for training. 

 

Chemical Suicide Training

Bruce Oliphant is returning later this Spring to give this important training.  Details coming soon.
