CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE IN URBAN AND RURAL EDUCATION

PROGRAMS

A tutoring program where 110 Buffalo State Mathematic, English, Social Studies and Foreign Language Education Majors tutor at 11 BPS schools for six weeks to help students prepare for year-end exams in those content areas. BSC preservice teachers report that participating in the program has helped them to view the city schools in a more positive light and many of our best candidates report that they are much more likely to consider teaching in urban settings after participating in the program.
