CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE IN URBAN AND RURAL EDUCATION

PROGRAMS

At Buffalo State College, the TOC program is designed to increase the number of underrepresented populations in the teaching profession.  Our ultimate goal is to equip teachers with the skills, knowledge and attitude needed for supporting at-risk youth.  Our program is unique in teacher aides for Buffalo Public Schools and Niagara Falls Schools comprise 100% of the student body and complete a majority of their college studies in the evenings, as part time students. Since teacher aides are already working with at-risk students in their classrooms, they are knowledgeable of and sensitive to the needs of urban children.
