Welcome to the official site for information about Buffalo State's Banner Implementation Project.

Buffalo State has implemented most of its Phase 1 objectives for the Banner Implementation Project. To date we have implemented Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Registration, and Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions. The final part of the first phase of the project to make Banner our official system of record is under way.

Background

The Banner Implementation Project was initiated to meet the college’s goal to provide the best possible service to students.  The project has been structured to leverage SunGard’s proven implementation methodology which should minimize risk and provide credibility to the planning process.  We will also leverage the lessons learned, business process analyses, and experience from the previous implementation effort.  The Banner Project Team has been structured to place the proper level of direction close to the project with the goal of making decision-making as efficient as possible.

The project takes advantage of the Buffalo State’s ability to use the SICAS Center’s licensing discounts of the SunGard products as well as the SICAS Center modifications for SUNY and New York State specific requirements.  The project also utilizes ITEC as a means to start the project more quickly than if we were to identify, procure, and install hardware and software to support the project.

In addition to the core student information system products, Buffalo State will also benefit from the ability to deploy the SunGard data warehouse and portal products.
