Banner System of Record Cutover

Requests for reports from Banner are starting to be fulfilled. Effort is being concentrated on those reports that have a common element, such as lists of majors. We appreciate all departments' patience in this regard.
- Requests for specific reports from Banner should be sent to request@buffalostate.edu in the usual manner. Please don’t re-submit your request. It will be completed as soon as practical.
Degree Navigator
- Degree Navigator will continue to remain down while the Banner/Degree Navigator interface is verified. We do not expect it up until mid to late September.
- Departments can assist students seeking degree audits by providing copies of audits available on the share drive. Department audit administrators have the instructions on how to access these audit sheets.

The Admissions office is able to use DN to print off the audits for students who they do an evaluation for. We are also able to place these new ones on the share drive in case an advisor needs an updated copy.
New Forms for Academic Departments
- Academic departments now have access to a couple of new forms. The addition of the new forms is largely due to feedback from some of you. If you want to have review of the new forms, see at the latest document that maps STARS functions to Banner forms. There are also a number of new documents with details on Banner forms on the Banner Faculty/Staff web page.
Summer grades are now available to Students via Self Service Banner (SSB).
- Students can now see their summer ’08 grades through a new item on the student Self Service Banner (SSB) menu called Student Records. Grade mailers will no longer be sent to students. Please direct students to Banner to see their summer ’08 grades.
Transition
During the transition, we will all have to get used to different ways of doing business. Here are several things that may help during the transition away from STARS.
- Academic departments have received a document in campus mail that shows where to find information in Banner that users had been used to getting in STARS.
- If you have not yet worked with the Banner Support group to learn how to use Banner as the single system of record, please contact them at 878-3434 or bannerhelp@buffalostate.edu.
- Training sessions offered by Banner Support are listed on the CyberQuad registration Web site: http://bscintra.buffalostate.edu/registration/.
- You can also check out the Banner Web site for faculty and staff at http://www.buffalostate.edu/Banner/faculty.xml for documents prepared to help in finding information in Banner.
STARS is no longer available.

Please contact Banner Support at 878-3434 or bannerhelp@buffalostate.edu. Be assured that all questions will receive a reply. Email or phone messages will normally receive a response within a few hours or less.
