COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS

The computer information systems (CIS) program is designed to prepare students for positions in the computer field and to provide them with the technical knowledge and managerial skills necessary for a wide range of subsequent career paths.

The program offers a bachelor of science and computer information systems minor for undergraduates. Students wishing to further their studies may receive a master of science education degree in educational computing.

Eighty five percent of CIS graduates are employed in the information systems field within two months of graduation. Recent graduates have been hired as programmers, systems analysts, network administrators, and database managers. Typical hiring firms include software developers, banks, health care systems, government agencies, and businesses that maintain or sell information systems. Organizations such as HSBC, IBM, Erie County, Independent Health, Kaleida Health, SUNY, GE, ClientLogic, Ingram Micro, and Digicon Communications have hired our graduates.
