In 2010, the college received two SUNYCUAD Awards for Excellence Judges' Citations: One for the Buffalo State website redesign and another for the Virtual Tour.

In 2009, the college's 2.0 Academic Department Templates received a bronze award from CASE District II in the category of "Website: Student Recruitment."

In 2007, SUNY's Council for University Affairs and Development (SUNY/CUAD) honored the Graduate School site with its best in category/student recruitment website award. SUNY/CUAD also recognized the Intercollegiate Athletics site with a judges' citation for alumni relations.

The Buffalo State "Underground Tour" earned two regional ADDY awards (categories: interactive media usage and viral marketing campaign), an "Award of Excellence" from the University & College Designers Association (UCDA), and a bronze "Accolades Award" from the 2008 CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) District II program (category: "Webcast, Podcast, CD, DVD Features"). Also in 2007, the CASE District II program bestowed a gold award to the Bulletin (category: "Web site Magazines").

In 2006, the college website was awarded bronze/institutional website by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education District II. Also in 2006, SUNY/CUAD recognized the Buffalo State Insider with best in category/university relations website.

In 2005, the college received an award of excellence for its entire website by the University and College Designers Association and earned silver in the category of institutional websites by District II of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

In 2004, the first official web team redesign garnered bronze in the institutional Web sites category from District II of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

Specialized college subsites, also developed by the College Relations web team, have received awards: Public Relations Society of America's Excalibur Award (the Daily), SUNY's Council for University Affairs and Development (Insider), and the Admissions Marketing Report (undergraduate admissions site).
